ICDS 2014: Returning to *SCAPE August 24th with guests Kamui, Dat-Baka and Jay Tablante

With an aim to celebrate the joy and creativity of cosplay together with many others around the globe, International Cosplay Day (Singapore) or ICDS for short, returns to *Scape on August 24th, Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM.

ICDS 2014 special guests who will be making their way here are:

- Kamui (presented by AsiaSoft), a cosplayer from Germany who specializes in large-sized armour and props.
- Dat-Baka, the globally popular Vietnamese-Australian cosplayer who recreates eye-catching male characters
- Filipino photographer Jay Tablante, whose stunning cosplay photography has garnered him many followers around the world. Jay is no stranger to the Red Dot Island and ICDS. He will be doing signings at his booth, and will also be promoting his upcoming book Geekology 2.0 with a photo exhibition.

This year, ICDS' organizer The Neo Tokyo Project, managed to rope in a slew of generous sponsors which include AsiaSoft, MyRepublic, Aftershock, Rêveur, SGCafe.com, CDS Studio and Kinokuniya. And thanks to them, general entrance to ICDS 2014 is FREE.

More serious cosplay fans and attendees can get easier access to activities and products as well as special access to panels by ICDS guests by selecting any of the 3 levels of Premium Ticketing.

The types of Premium Ticketing are:
- 'Rare' Pass for SGD 10
- 'Epic' Pass for SGD 50
- 'Legendary' Pass for SGD 100

Details of what each of these premium ticketing entails can be found in the ICDS website here.

With an expected 5,000 anime/pop-culture fans, cosplayers and photographers attending ICDS 2014, the event will be spanning over 3 levels of the venue, *SCAPE, and has been revamped with a new format that includes more community activities, more stage programs and more booths.

As in previous ICDS, the popular facets of the day's activities - like the Cosplay Runway/ Talent Showcase, and the interesting Cosplay Chess (this year's theme is “Heroes & Villains: Your Move!”) - will still be in the scheduled program.

Fans can also participate in the Anime Quiz Challenge (sponsored by Anime Yorozuya) and the scavenger hunt called ConQuest. About ConQuest, there is a chance that one might win a dinner date with hot guest Dat-Baka if one completes the bingo card. (Talk about having meat for dinner.... W0000t!) For shopaholics, there will be a Doujin Market with several artists showcasing their works.

Gamers will be glad to know that there will be 10 demo stations powered by Aftershock which showcases Asiasoft's  Blizzard Entertainment's free-to-play online team brawler "Heroes of the Storm" ™. And by the end of the exciting day, fans can wind down by indulging in the AniDance & Music Party.

The organizer has also launched the E.P.I.C. Rewards Card that provides fans with access to discounts or special offers with over 20 merchants (e.g. Basheer/ Cosmoprof, etc) at just SGD 5! Which is a pretty good deal, Red Dot Diva has to say.

All in all, ICDS 2014 seems to be shaping up to a happening and more inclusive event for the anime/ pop-culture community.

Who's all set on going? :D
