10 Days of Star Wars: Experience the Force Singapore Festivities at Orchard Road and STGCC 2017 (1 September to 10 September, 2017)!

From 1 September to 8 September 2017, Orchard Road becomes part of the galaxy far far away, as it kicks off a 10-day festival called "Star Wars: Experience the Force Singapore".

1 September is also Force Friday II, a global event when the launch of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" toys and merchandise will be celebrated by fans all over the world. If the first Force Friday in 2015 was any indication, there should be a lot of social media interaction around the globe, as toys are unboxed and fan reactions are shared live. Disney promises that this year's event will be an even more unique experience for the fans, with the use of new technology and more immersive ways to bring the Star Wars universe to life.

Local Star Wars fans will not be not left out either. At ION Basement 4, new items will be released at the stroke of midnight on 1 September (Friday). If you are all out to get the latest stuff, get prepared for a small crowd lining up for the unveiling. So be there early!

The Star Wars festivities at ION Orchard are Free of Charge, and will lead on to even more fun activities held during pop-culture convention, STGCC (9 & 10 September). The entire festival is organised by ReedPOP and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, with event partner ION Orchard, and the support of the Singapore Tourism Board.

So what can fans expect during the 10 glorious days of "Star Wars: Experience the Force Singapore"?

AT ORCHARD ROAD

Take a pic with the Millennium Falcon

Stationed at ION's Outdoor Event Space (Level 1) will be a replica of the legendary Millennium Falcon! So super exciting!

This is the first time the Millennium Falcon is being displayed in South-East Asia. Wonder if it's a big model or a small one?

Train to be a Padawan

At every half-hour intervals starting from 3 PM to 8:30 PM, Jedi hopefuls can embark on their Padawan Training sessions at ION's Outdoor Event Space (Level 1). Do note that timing is subject to change without notice, and registrations are on a first come first served basis. If the weather turns bad, sessions may be cancelled too.

Anyway, building patience is also one of the important lessons for a Padawan, so persevere and you might take your first step toward being a Jedi!

Meet BB-8 in VR Form

This is a chance to meet the cutest robot in the galaxy, BB-8! Via Virtual Reality experience created by ILMxLAB, the activity was launched at this year's Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Now, local fans will be able to interact with BB-8 too!

Take Pics with the 3.5 m tall AT-ACT Walker Display

Courtesy of toymaker Beast Kingdom, a 3.5 m tall AT-ACT from "Rogue One" will be watching out for intruders at ION Orchard against a Scarif background.

At 1/7 scale of the armoured vehicle in the movie, the limited edition made-to-order AT-ACT from Beast Kingdom's Mastercraft series, was sold at a price of  USD 32,000. Get prepared to be blown away.

Beast Kingdom will also be unveiling an exclusive Egg Attack Action figure - the EAA-055 Darth Vader Hologram Version from "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back". There will also be a range of Star Wars toys and merchandise for fans to add on to their collection.

Be On Standby Together with an AT-ST

Just outside of Shaw House, a replica of the AT-ST will be standing guard.

Red Dot Diva supposes this is the same model as the one seen during this year's May the 4th celebration at Gardens by the Bay. If you missed being seeing it earlier this year, this is your chance!

AT STGCC (Sands Convention Centre, MBS)

After getting a feel of the Force at Orchard Road, up the ante by heading to this year's STGCC at MBS Convention Centre on 9 and 10 September!

Star Wars will take centrestage at this year's convention, filled with merchandise, games and demos of mobile games, like the first action shooter game called Star Wars: Rivals. Fans will be able to try out the game and challenge each other in real time!

The BB-8 VR Experience will also be available at STGCC, in addition to the following fan interaction areas:

Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer

Enter the Dark Side, by taking in the display of Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer, which will be featured in the upcoming Episode VII "Star Wars: The Last Jedi".

Red Dot Diva plans to go all Sith in her photo op with this bad flying machine.

Rey's Speeder

For those who prefer to align to the Light Side of the Force, there will also be a display of Rey's Speeder. The fan made prop has been signed by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams. Have a closer look and see if you can find his autograph!

Interior of the Millennium Falcon

The other fan-made prop on display at STGCC is a replica of the interior of the Millennium Falcon. This should be a fun place to do iconic Star Wars poses with a bunch of pals!

Since many of us are not able to head to Star Wars Celebration held overseas, "Star Wars: Experience the Force Singapore" brings the Star Wars universe closer to the fans here.

It's a epic 10-day fun-filled party not to be missed!
